Roxane holds a master in Public Law (magna cum laude) from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and an MSc in Crime and Criminal Justice (cum laude) from Leiden University. For her second master thesis, Roxane did a critical analysis of the recent French counterterrorist reform through the lens of exceptionalism.
Roxane has been a PhD candidate at the Van Vollenhoven Institute since 2018. She researches questions related to human smuggling and human trafficking within the context of Intra-Schengen mobility. Her PhD research is supervised by Professor M.A.H. van der Woude and Professor J.P. van der Leun.
As from 2017, Roxane assists Prof. Maartje van der Woude in the course Law, Politics & Society (Master Comparative Criminal Justice), and she is also involved in the development of the new master of Law, Governance and Society.
